You're Ireland!
Mystical and rain-soaked, you remain mysterious to many people, and this
makes you intriguing. You also like a good night at the pub, though many are just as
worried that you will blow up the pub as drink your beverage of choice. You're good
with words, remarkably lucky, and know and enjoy at least fifteen ways of eating a potato.
You really don't like snakes.

We were Max Brennered.
My dark suckao tasted like Hersheys melted in Anchor non-fat. His white cold drink I coined Imitation Swiss Miss Vanilla Chill and Shake.
Four hundred twenty pesos down the drain. We were so disappointed it was hilarious.
After that, we went straight to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf where we had our comfort drinks (mine: Ice Blended Ultimate Black Forest; his: plain hot moccha). Even then I couldn't stop grinning like an idiot, thinking about what had just happened, in effect reminding him of the trauma he really wanted to forget.
Two movies (Lost in Translation, Runaway Jury), a round of Percussion Freaks, and a hotdog after, I was still laughing.
Oh well. At least it was the perfect nudge (no, more like tulak) towards frugality I really needed.

After a month of wearing civilian clothes, we wore our slave uniform again today.
Ansisikip sa min lahat. :))
Like I mentioned in my last post, I gained eight pounds. Isang sanggol na yun ah. But then, I have a groupmate who gained 20 pounds in Antipolo. Isang malaking baby naman yun sa kanya. :D

And so Community Medicine ends.
I want to write everything about the magical month but shet, nase-senti ako. Maybe someday.
Now it feels weird to go to bed and fall asleep without the familiar chismisan of my groupmates in the background.

11:00 am. February 25, 2004. Eastwood City.
Me: Gi, tingnan mo tong lugar na to. Ibang-iba sa Sagipin no?
Gigi: I don't even think the people from Sagipin can imagine themselves in this place.
Me: Oo nga. And what we're spending here in one night, pagkain na ng isang pamilya maghapon dun.
And then I remembered the countless times I blogged about not having a car. Or money for the shoes and clothes I wanted.
I felt ashamed of myself.
Com Med was indeed a very humbling experience.

Only happy thing I can think of now that the Antipolo experience is over:
No more Lola.
Which reminds me of a panalo comment of John upon learning that we had to do clinics on EDSA day:
"Yang si mam, siguro paggising niya araw araw iniisip niya, pano ko kaya bubuwisitin mga estudyante ko ngayong araw na to?"
True enough, pauwi na lang kami kahapon, nambwisit pa.

Eight pounds. Eight heavy pounds.
Diet starts now.

Blue Day Journal, sometime in 2002
Things I really want to do before I die:
* be a doctor
* reach my ideal weight
* fall insanely in love
One out of three isn't bad, is it?
